Fireboy and Watergirl 4: Crystal Temple
Fireboy and Watergirl 4: Crystal Temple is the fourth adventure in the cooperative platform game series featuring two heroes made of complementary elements. Can you use their well-matched superpowers to collect the gems and guide both heroes to the exit?
How do you play Fireboy and Watergirl 4: Crystal Temple?
In this adventure game, Fireboy and Watergirl are exploring a temple full of magical portals powered by crystals. Activate the portals to teleport the heroes through the level. Collect the blue, red, and white gems and try to guide each hero to the matching exit.
Look at the colored crystals on the portals to see which magic doorways form a pair. You can not only pass through the portals with Fireboy and Watergirl, but you can also push blocks and other objects through the portals to teleport them elsewhere. The portals are double-sided, and the side on which you enter will determine where the portal will spit your heroes out again. The black and white glow indicates where each portal leads.
The two heroes must work together to solve each platform puzzle level. Press the buttons and push the levers to activate the doors, elevators, and crystal portals. Some buttons will need to remain pressed to keep a platform or door in place, or to keep a fan running. Others are timed: a small clock will appear beneath the button once you push it, showing how long it will remain activated.
What can each hero do in Fireboy and Watergirl 4: Crystal Temple?
Fireboy and Watergirl make a great duo because they have contrasting abilities. What’s dangerous for the one is perfectly safe for the other:
Fireboy can walk through the lava and can collect the red gems. He cannot pick up any blue gems, however, and will pass right through them if he tries. Fireboy will turn to ash if he falls into a pool of water. Watergirl, on the other hand, can walk through water. She can collect the blue gems but not the red ones. She won’t survive taking a dip in the lava though.
Both characters can collect the white gems, and neither character will live to tell the tale if they touch the toxic green sludge. Look at each level carefully and determine who should take what route to gather the gems and avoid the deadly dangers.
What do the gems in the diamond maze mean in the Fireboy and Watergirl games?
The shape of each gem on the level map indicates what type of level you will be playing. Whether it’s a timed challenge, an untimed portal challenge, or a symmetry puzzle.
The gems are also color coded. Each level has a series of special objectives. If you complete the level, but don’t finish all the achievements, the gem will turn orange. If you complete the level and finish all objectives, the gem will turn green.
You can always return to orange gems to try them again. Here’s a tip to help you complete the timed-challenges: if you can’t finish within the level objective time on your own, team up with a friend and share the keyboard. You’ll be able to move faster if each of you can focus on a single character.
